‘iThemba leSizwe’, translating to ‘Hope of the Nation’, is directed by prominent protest poet, Bongani Ncube. The group is set to perform drama, poetry, dancing and music on the launch day.

“We have dancers, singers and poets who are set to storm the stage and express their views on continued human rights abuses by Zanu (PF) and Mugabe’s cronies. We will protest through arts until he goes down,” added Ncube.

The group has also been invited to various South African government forums and theatrical performances.

Ncube is also known for producing the hit Shona/Ndebele stage play ‘Inkulu lendaba’ which was widely welcomed in the sprawling suburbs of Johannesburg. He also wrote the drama ‘Double Standards’ which was staged in theatres throughout South Africa.
