The league’s most outstanding footballer will be revealed in Harare tomorrow, after the top 11 were selected a few weeks ago.
The prize’s winner and his first and second runners-up will be announced tomorrow, alongside Coach and Referee of The Year.
The Dembare shot-stopper put on a stellar performance and helped his side win a league and cup double. That impressed a panel of football writers, coaches, referees and members of the Football Union of Zimbabwe.
Winning the prize would do poetic justice to the goalkeeper, who failed to grace the calendar last season, after he was disqualified by a section of the selection panel.
Other contenders: Donald Ngoma, Tafadzwa Dube (both FC Platinum), George Magariro (Dynamos), Cliff Sekete (Gunners), Nkosana Siwela (Hwange), Abbas Amidu (Black Mambas) and Tapiwa Kumbuyani (CAPS United), Rahman Kutsanzira and Graham Ncube (both Highlanders).
