Tennis boss ousted

Midlands Tennis Board interim chairman, Andrew Nyakotyo, has been ousted from his position following his failure to garner majority support at the just-ended annual general meeting.

Stanely Rhudhu is the new chairman, while Daniel Tendenedzai will be his deputy. Jamia Seremani will be the secretary. The purse will be kept by Douglas Kwere.

Nyakotyo’s leadership has been under immense criticism for the past three years. He was accused of misappropriating funds and gross maladministration. Coaches during his reign broke away to form a splinter group.

“This new team should bring back the glory of the game in this province. It’s time that tennis here was refined and standards existing in other provinces put into practice,” said Cliff Nhokwara, the Tennis Zimbabwe Manager who presided over the polls.
