The meeting that is being sponsored by AfricaBrains will see ministers from a host of African countries discussing how they can harness the private sector potential.
Minister of Education, Art, Sports and Culture David Coltart who is the host said it was important for the private sector to get involved in investing in ICT.
“It is essential to deliver investment in ICT for education through strong partnerships with international and local technology leaders,” said Coltart.
The summit will focus on key areas for establishing such partnerships and procurement between the ministries of education and the private sector.
Among other issues the meeting will focus on ways of reducing internet bandwidth and telecoms costs; e-learning and electronic publishing.
