Hard times for Hardbody

It never rains but pours for local Division one champions, Hardbody FC. The Watosvorwa boys, who finished the just ended season tops, last week won an appeal against the docking of their 42 points, but second placed Beitbridge side, Triple B, have in turn appealed that ZIFA decision.

This brings back a cloud of uncertainty over the busmen, with only two months left before PSL action resumes. Hardbody were found guilty by a local disciplinary committee of fielding fraudulently-registered player, Tatenda Chingarah.

The Reginald Chidawanyika-led committee slapped them with the stiff penalty, in which it docked three points from each of the 14 matches Chingarah played.

A ZIFA Appeals committee led by Chairperson Tererai Gunje, last week set aside the punishment but Tripple B has taken the case to the Sport Arbitration Centre, arguing that one of the Appeals committee members is linked to Ralph Maganga, the ZIFA lawyer.
