UK launches AFRO TV

AFRO TV the best African internet television station will be officially launched on the 31 of March 2012 at the Hilton Hotel Paddington in London.

Afro TV is a UK based African internet television channel that provides its viewers with quality, entertaining and educational programmers. It's aim is to promote raw African talents that is usually sidelined by the mainstream media with a special focus on African musicians and African filmmakers. Shows include African music shows, African gospel shows, African entertainment news, African dramas, movies and documentaries.

Afro TV was founded by Sibongile Tendai Tamia Rukazhanga who originates from Zimbabwe after uncovering the lack of positive representations of Africans on mainstream television stations. Afro TV also aims to open closed doors to Africans who want to work in the media by providing training and work opportunities.

One of their main objectives is to act as a vehicle for African musicians and African filmmakers by showcasing their work.

Our shows are

 Afro Gospel Show – a spiritually uplifting programme. The show plays African gospel music and shares the word from the bible. The show also shows highlights from major UK gospel events and interviews with artists.

 Ngoma Show is an entertainment show aimed at Zimbabweans living in diaspora. The show provides latest entertainment news, exclusive interviews and latest music videos from Zimbabwean artists.

 DeepSouth Show is for Africans from Southern Africa who are often not represented. We play videos, and bring exclusive interviews with artists from Southern Africa

 Afro Urban Show showcases African urban artist. We play music videos, exclusive interviews and entertainment news. The show covers major African events.

 Sibs Meets – and chats with different celebrities and influential Africans that are making a different or excelling in what they do with the hope that their stories will inspire others.

 African dramas is a selection of short dramas from African filmmakers. We aim to show a variety of programmes. Filmmaker can showcase their through the artist page.

On the night we will have great entertainment including African speakers, musicians, filmmakers and other artist showcasing their work. The night will be a chance for African entrepreneurs to network with each other. Tickets are just £50 and they include a three course meal, entertainment and free entry into the afterparty.
