The three Zanu PF supporters who are also brothers, Phillip, James and Tawanda Madenga assaulted Tarusenga Makwira on 25 December in Masvingo North. Makwira, who is the MDC secretary for Ward 13 in Masvingo North sustained serious injuries due to the assault and had to seek medical attention in Masvingo Town where he was hospitalised for some days.
He reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the three.
