This after the provincial executive secured sponsorship for several tournaments lined up for the coming season, which kicks-off next week.
The province faired badly in the sport, in what is attributable to lack of sponsorship, making the latest turn of events a bit refreshing.
Provincial chair, Molest Gaka, gave confirmation.
“We have four sponsors right now who have said they will sponsor various tournaments for us this year and it is a great step towards the development of the game,” he said.
He added that in the last tournament won by Mkoba-based outfit – Mboma, Petroleum firm Redan had succeeded to sponsor all the 32 teams that contested.
“2012 has begun on a high note in the province as far as pool is concerned. In the very first month, we have succeeded to host a tournament and that is a big achievement.”
Though the league is yet to get a sound sponsor, hopes are high that companies and mines being courted will unveil favourable packages.
