“I sell six-week-old puppies for $500 each. Each female dog delivers an average of five to 10 puppies,” said Dube.
He currently owns 15 dogs and sells the puppies to security companies and some individuals.
“Security companies are my major clients. They buy puppies to train as security dogs. I also export some puppies to South African security companies,” said Dube. The dog owner spends almost $700 dollars a month on dog food and inoculations for the dogs.
“I always make sure that the dogs are well fed and properly looked after. I also dip the dogs once a month,” he said.
Following the success of his business, Dube is looking for a larger premises from which he can run his operation.
“My home is too small for this project. I have applied to the council for land in order to expand my business.”Post published in: News
