MDC replaces ID docs

The MDC-T is helping victims of political violence to replace identification documents destroyed by Zanu (PF) in the run up to the 2008 elections.

Mashonaland East Provincial Youth National Representative, Jimmy Joliffe, made the announcement at a rally on Saturday.

“The MDC-T is assisting people who were left disenfranchised by Zanu (PF) in 2008, as their important identification documents were confiscated and destroyed by thugs from the former ruling party. All we need is a receipt issued by the Registrar General’s office to prove that those given cash to apply for their papers, used it for the intended purpose,” said Joliffe.

The RG’s office charges $20 to replace identification documents.
