SA to host Zim investment conference

A high powered business delegation from Zimbabwe is expected to visit South Africa’s Gauteng province on March 1-2 for an investment conference organized by Africa Exchange.

Delegates will include Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Minister, Tapiwa Mashakada and South Africa’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies.

Finance minister, Tendai Biti will present a paper entitled Zimbabwe: SADC Economic tiger. The conference will also focus on the Zimbabwe-SA BIPPA, including investment opportunities and incentives.

CEOs from Old Mutual, Zimplats, Unki Mine, McCormick (Mall of Zimbabwe), Meikles-Pick ‘n Pay,Stanbic Bank,South African Airways, SAB Miller and ESSAR, among many others, are expected to give presentations about doing business in Zimbabwe.

A special focus will be on engaging the diaspora community. Mashakada will sell the Medium Term Plan to the SA diaspora community and the Zimbabwe Investment Authority willpresent on investment opportunities and incentives.
