In his address to President Robert Mugabe during his 88th birthday celebrations, Mukodza, who caught the party stalwarts off-guard, said there were rogue elements within the party’s top structures.
He called on the ageing party leader to act decisively on the matter since the culprits were dragging the party’s name into the mud.
“There is a lot of corruption in our party. Some top officials are setting a bad example for the party. They have gone against the principles of the party, yet they are tolerated. Some of them are even here,” he said.
The vigorous youth leader further said his seniors were taking advantage of their positions and preventing the youths from benefiting from empowerment programmes.
“Many of us are struggling to pay tuition fees and support our families. On behalf of the youths in Manicaland I call upon you (President Mugabe) to get rid of such corrupt members and save the image of the party,” Mukodza said.
The youth leader was silenced by a visibly angry Sikhosana Ndlovu who ironically holds the position of Zanu (PF) youth leader.
