New York- Zimbabwe was the only African country to vote against the united nations resolution condemning the violence in Syrian.

The vote was passed with an overwhelming majority of 138 to 12 with 17 abstentions. Zimbabwe was joined by syria's traditional allies north Korea, Russia, china, cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, Ecuador, Bolivia and Nicaragua.

The non-binding resolution sends a clear message to the syrain government that the world is u tied in condemning the government- sponsored violence against the people.
