The council carried out a massive rehabilitation of the water reticulation system but remained faced with challenges regarding expansion of the water works.

“With the imminent completion of the Wenimbe-Marondera Water Pipe Line, the $10 million fund could not have come at a more opportune time. Barely a month after the minister made the promise, council has received the funds. Work will begin soon,” said Mayor Farai Nyandoro.

Government has also released some $150 million towards maintenance of the town’s road network. Part of the funds will be used to rehabilitate machinery used for road maintenance.
