Moses Tengera (32) and Clemence Sande of Mazowe were formally charged and pleaded not guilty before Nyanga magistrate Ignatio Mhene.They were remanded out of custody to 29 March.
The court heard that they raided smugglers carrying15 crates of illegal Mozambican Gin in a donkey cart and took the loot home.
The smugglers alerted a local shopkeeper, Clive Chitsatse, who had sent them to buy alcohol in Mozambique.
