IYASA flies Zim flag in Austria

Award winning arts group, Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts (IYASA) is flying the country’s flag high in Austria.

The director of the group, Nkululeko Dube told The Zimbabwean recently that the group which intended to perform in Austria for the next six months was so far “doing very well” as it was playing to full houses.

The tour follows another successful tour last year in Japan where the group recorded its first ever DVD album with Benjamin Kellner which was well received internationally.

IYASA was established in 2001 to support and promote the best interests of young musicians, dancers, actors and poets.

It has since expanded to be a resource centre for most established and upcoming artistes, especially musicians, singers and dancers. It is composed of talented and committed skilled and highly trained artistes in music, dance, drama and poetry, film and other genres.

Through comprehensive workshops, projects, training, programmes and performances in and outside the country IYASA plays an integral role in the development and promotion of talent in music, dance, film, poetry and theatre.

The group is now a household name in Zimbabwe and is being viewed as an ambassador of African performing arts locally, regionally and internationally.
