Buffaloes head coach, Sol Chaminuka, says his PSL returnees are aiming at lifting the league title in the coming season, which begins in a fortnight.

He said this on the sidelines of a handover ceremony of a $135 000 donation from Mbada Diamonds.

“My aim is for us to end on position one – clinching the title. Considering that the team went through some serious financial problems last season, but still managed to win the Eastern region division one title means we can do better. This donation will go a long way in helping us achieve our goals,” he said.

“Should we fail to lift the title, then a top eight finish that would see us get further donations from Mbada Diamonds will be welcome. We would like to walk on the footsteps of FC Platinum’s first year achievements in the PSL.”

Captain Dananai Chinowawa concurred.

“We want to play good football and compete with seasoned teams. We do not want to disappoint fans, who should come in their numbers to support us, or our sponsors. This donation will definitely motivate us. I feel that we will perform well this season.”

Mining giant Mbada Diamonds handed over a $135 000 donation package that included $100 000 deposited into the team’s account and kit worth $35 000.The $100 000 would meet winning bonuses, travel expenses and accommodation costs for the team.
