Former Information Minister and ZANU PF MP for Mhondoro-Ngezi, Bright Matongo, confirmed the accident in a telephone interview with SW Radio Africa. But he said he had no information on Chininga’s condition. Other reports said Chininga was bleeding profusely and was put on drip at the scene.
Last year ZANU PF expelled Chininga from the constitution making committee (COPAC) on allegations that he leaked secret documents to the MDC led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
