ZANU PF MP involved in car accident

A ZANU PF MP, fired from the constitution making exercise last year, has been involved in a serious car accident along the Harare-Guruve road. Edward Chindori Chininga, the outspoken MP for Guruve South, was said to be trapped in the car for a considerable amount of time while other injured victims were taken to hospital.

Former Information Minister and ZANU PF MP for Mhondoro-Ngezi, Bright Matongo, confirmed the accident in a telephone interview with SW Radio Africa. But he said he had no information on Chininga’s condition. Other reports said Chininga was bleeding profusely and was put on drip at the scene.

Last year ZANU PF expelled Chininga from the constitution making committee (COPAC) on allegations that he leaked secret documents to the MDC led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. The MP took to facebook and launched an astonishing attack on Didymus Mutasa, the party’s Secretary for Administration. – SW Radio Africa News
