Following the successful hosting of the 2011 Cheer-Fund at the end of January, top MDC District and Provincial officials who felt left out of the feasting hauled Nyandoro before a disciplinary hearing for dining with Zanu (PF) business people.

Part of the council report reads. “The traditional Mayor’s Christmas Cheer-fund was successfully reintroduced in 2011. The Committee is chaired by a council employee and the Mayor’s role is only eremonial.

He is not in charge of the Fund and did not issue the invitations.”

Meanwhile, Nyandoro was recently arraigned before the Magistrates’ Court here for allegedly sponsoring intra-party violence at an MDC-T rally held at Two Boy Shopping Centre, Chief Svosve area two weeks ago. He and 15 party youths are out on $300 bail each and will be back at the courts tomorrow, Friday.

Eye witnesses said Nyandoro did not incite the youths into violence, but actually saved Provincial Executive and District Members from possible permanent bodily harm at the hands of party youths.
