Fear of attachment of Mufakose residents property by municipality

Mufakose residents are awash with fear as they stand to lose their property tomorrow to municipality over outstanding bills. Summons for property attachment by the messenger of court were served last week and the exercise is slated for 24 April 2012.

Residents were only given 7 days to settle their arrears with council.

This comes after frantic efforts to be put on a manageable payment plan and with the assistance of Harare Residents Trust were turned down by the service provider.

Over 50 households in the western suburb were served with the court orders, the bulk of which can only manage to pay a monthly US$ 34 towards services and US$50-100 towards servicing the account.
