He said Mugabe’s Independence Day clarion call of non- political violence was insincere.
“We have so many Mugabes in this world. He is inconsistent with his policy pronouncements. He will be one Mugabe when he calls for elections, another when addressing his party’s central committee, politburo, another in Parliament, in the National Security Council and the cabinet,” he said.
“His call is in doubt until it is seen to be practical.”Mugabe has in the past publicly claimed to have ‘many degrees of political violence.
Addressing the same gathering Willard Somerai MDC-T Midlands North Provincial Executive Council member also warned thatZanu (PF) survived on political violence and that Mugabe’s call must not be taken seriously as it did not “reflect honesty and political commitment”.
“Zanu (PF)’s agenda on power retention is still blazing hot. Mugabe is oiling his political machinery. Do not trust Zanu (PF). This is not believable in any honest sense and analysis.Mugabe has in the past failed to whip his military junta service chiefs who have perpetuated him into power. There is nothing concrete yet to believe Mugabe will stop violence now in his election campaign bid,” warned Somerai.Post published in: News
