Youths from the two Movement for Democratic Change movements and Zanu (PF) clad in their respective party regalia brought business to a halt as people watched them sing while taking part in the cleaning exercise organised by the Joint Monitoring and Implementation Committee (Jomic).
Connelias Selipiwe, spokesperson for MDC-T Midlands South youths said that the youths were demonstrating that they were ‘one people’ and that youths will not take part in violence again.
Zanu (PF’s) Christopher Mabhiza described the exercise as ‘clear indication and message’ that youths can peacefully co-exist despite their diverse political affiliations.
MdumoMoyo of the MDC formation led by Professor Welshman Ncube echoed the same sentiments.
