BBC man in court

A BBC radio presenter who was arrested in Bulawayo and charged with working without a work permit is currently before a bulawayo magistrate at a local hospital where he is admitted.

Petroc Trelawny was detained on Thursday while attending an arts festival , according to his lawyer Munyaradzi Nzirayapenga.

The presenter who denies the charges , was sent to hospital after falling and injuring his arm while in police custody.

The lawyer said the incident was a pure accident . “He tripped and fell . He is being charged with contravening the immigration Act by working without a permit,” said the lawyer.
