Case Continues For Masvingo Activists

Six Masvingo activists Maxwell Hlongwani, Brian Chimwayi, Christopher Mutema, Amos Mutema, Terrance Moyo and Tatenda Dziva appeared before Masvingo Magistrate on the 22nd of May and their case will continue on the 4th of May. The Six are facing charges of public violence after protesting against the suspension of SRC Elections that were supposed to be held last semester. Trail For ZINASU Activist Continues:

ZINASU Student activist Pride Mkono appeared before a Harare magistrate on the 23rd of May for the ruling of his application. The activist had made an application to the Supreme Court so that his case could be heard as a constitutional case. The case was postponed to the 29th of May as stated notified that it needed to merge the charges with the new charges of public violence and assault which the UZ Security Guards’ brought against the activist. When he appeared on the 29th of May the case was further postponed to the 14th of June. The activist is facing charges of public violence emanating from the disturbances that rocked the UZ Student Executive Council election.

Case Continues For Three ZINASU Activists:

Three ZINASU Activists Pride Mukono, Tryvine Musokeri and Tinashe Mutimbanyoka appeared before a Gweru Magistrate on the 24th of May. The three are facing charges of assault and violating the Public Order and Security Act (POSA).Postponed to the 11th of June for the continuation of trial.
