“One of my MDC colleagues admitted that members of his party also use Chipangano when they want to deal with one another. It happens in all political parties. Chipangano is on hire,” said Muchinguri.
She added that Chipangano should be held to account for their actions. “We are quite concerned about the operations of Chipangano and its members must be brought to book.”
Jomic co-chairperson, Tabitha Khumalo (MDC-T), said it was sad that their youth leader, Solomon Madzore, and other party members were being tried while nothing was happening to Chipangano members.
Frank Chamunorwa, of the Welshman Ncube led MDC faction, said there was need to protect innocent citizens from the vigilantes. “Poor people who are trying to earn a living are being milked by Chipangano and this is the most abominable act that the group is engaging in,” he said.
