This cultural group of 20 members was formed 13 years ago at Hillbrow under the Lutheran Church of Peace.
“We focus on community issues such as poverty, crime and HIV and AIDS,” the group leader, Qhubani Malinga, said.
They have done a lot in partnership with the city of Johannesburg and are currently working with the Home Affairs Department migrant help desk.
‘’Our purpose is to unite different cultures through dancing, singing, writing and acting. We run an annual peace festival to promote the diversity of different cultures,’’ he added.
This group has won several awards for its work.In 2011; they won the Edenvale Acting Drama Society Award and the Sibambiseni Festival Award. They performed in Swaziland at a reeds dance ceremony and have been as far afield as Germany in partnership with Evangelical Mission.
