After nine months of hard work at the Creatic4Africa innovation laboratory in Spain, five young innovators from Ethiopia and Senegal presented their ICT-based innovations at a specialevent organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa andthe Technology Centre for ICTs on ‘Innovation in ICTs.’

Among the ideas presented were a telephone-based vehicle security system and amobile-based decision support system to improve child health care. Eskedar Nega, Programme Officer at ECAsaid: “The ideas that were presented are fantastic and now we need to focus on how to take them forward”.

Initiated through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between ECA and CTICduring the Second Science with Africa Conference on Science in June 2010, Creatic4 Africa aims to spur innovation among Africa’s youth by enabling them to develop ideas into viable and solution-based applications. – biztechafrica.com
