The Zimbabwe Karate Union has embarked on a rigorous campaign to improve professionalism of the game ahead of Zone 6 Championships, to be staged in Gaborone, Botswana on June 30. Joe Rugwete, ZKU president, said the union was currently holding regional tournaments aimed at coming up with a Chief Referee to spearhead professionalism.

“We want to make the nation proud when we take part at the Zone 6 Championships. We are going through an assessment exercise for choosing a Chief referee and also tirelessly preparing for the event,” said Rugwete.
