Six ZINASU Activists’ Await Application Ruling:

Six ZINASU activists Pride Mkono, Tinashe Mtyaso, Tinashe Chisaira, Francis Mufambi, Tryvine Musokeri and Joram Chikwadze appeared before A Harare Magistrate today the 25th of June for application for dismissal of their charges. At the close of the state’s case, the defense lawyer, Obey Shava indicated that he wanted to apply for discharge as the witnesses gave conflicting statements in their testimonies. It is the state’s case that on the 21st of March this year, the six together with about 30 other accomplices who are still at large gathered outside the Magistrates’ court in solidarity with Welcome Zimuto, Antoneta Choto, Munyaradzi Gwisai, Edson Chakuma, Hopewell Gumbo and Tatenda Mombeyarara whose sentence was to be handed down that day. It is alleged the ZINASU activists were singing obscene songs and chanting slogans, they also threw fliers inscribed, “Freedom for Zimuto, Choto, Gwisai, Chakuma, Mombeyarara and Gumbo.
