Son inherits band from Mjintu

Former Orchestra Mberikwazvo rhythmist, Innocent Mjintu, has left his band to his son, Leanmore, who has plans to release his first five-track album in August.

In an interview with The Zimbabwean, Leanmore said the development cameat a time his father had decided to join Mutodi Express.

“My father gave me his blessing to take over his band and we have started rehearsing for the new album which I haven’t yet given a title,” said Leanmore.

The 17-year-old said the album consisted of five tracks, namely Ndikasangodaro, Nhaka, Vakakonewa, Ngative nerudo and Kukandwa Pakicheni.

Leanmore has staged numerous live shows and was party to the recent clash of the giants at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex which featured Sungura maestro,

Alick Macheso, Oliver Mutukudzi, Jah Prayzah and Freddy Manjalima.
