Unity pays for Sibanda

Gospel artist Marvellous Sibanda’s latest release bears testimony that unity is the key to success in the industry.

The Bulawayo-born Sibanda worked together with countryman and long-time friend, Ben Masuku, The Nations Sisters and South Africans, Tshepo and Mbuyiseni Radebe in his recently-released second album “Mama”.

The 10-track album marks a great improvement for the artist, who had great success in 2010 with his debut release “Ongiholayo”.

“I dedicated the album to my mother, who passed on in 2008. I had not found the right words to sing a dedication to her, but I am glad that I have now,” said the 30-year-old, who grew up in Silobela, Midlands.

“I incorporated these other artists to add variety and make the album the true dedication that I wanted it to be to my mother. This seems to have worked wonders because most people have remarked that it is a great improvement from the first album and really love it.”

The tracks, Soon and very soon, Uthando, Mama and Angikamboni, have fast appealed to gospel lovers. The album was wholly composed and produced by Sibanda.

“I am now planning a DVD for the second album, which should be out by September and I promise fans that it will be great.”
