ZigZag in the studio

Chigiyo music outfit, Zig-Zag, is back in the studio after taking a sabbatical in 2005.

The eight-member crew led by founder, Steven Lunga, is hoping that the album, ‘Harder than rock’ will build on the group’s former success.

Zig-Zag Band is famous for the hit Gomo Ramasare which became a household song in 1987. Other songs like Mudzimu Mukuru, Bombiro and Mhondoro Dzinomwa Munasave also saw the group widening its fan base before sinking into obscurity in 2005 after the release of Chigiyo Vibes.

“We are recording the album and it will have 10 tracks. We hope to use the album to reconnect with our fans,” band Manager, Madson ‘TBR’ Phiri, told The Zimbabwean.

He added that the group hoped to have the album out by end of this month.

“Our fans should be on standby. I am confident this offering will be great,” said Phiri.
