Bring Musona back

Oscar Machapa and Archieford Gutu believe Knowledge Musona is an asset to the Warriors team, despite the Augsburg player’s recent fall-out with mother-body ZIFA.

“I think we need him,” said Gutu. “The guy has been scoring goals for the country and it will be tough without him.”

Musona said he would not be available for selection until the mother body apologised for accusing him of throwing the team’s 1-0 loss to Guinea in a World Cup qualifier. The allegation was brought by ZIFA Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze, who also fingered striker Ovidy Karuru.

With football fans hoping that the ZIFA president was going to value Musona’s contribution to the Warriors and attempt to fix the buttered relationship, Dube insisted the team could move forward without Musona.

“I think his side is right because he knows how he feels after being assaulted for match-fixing. They (ZIFA) did not attempt to get his side of the story before they rushed to the media to spread the allegations,” said Machapa.
