Chinese flood the market

EDITOR - Our local manufacturers are running at a loss because the Chinese have flooded the market with cheap rubbish and we cannot compete with their prices. Our locally manufactured goods are of a high standard compared to the cheaper, low quality products dumped on us by the Chinese. The Chinese are given more ‘rights’ than us Zimbos and we are born and bred here. How can this happen?

Local manufactures can only afford to run for two weeks of the month. The workers are not paid, there is no water or electricity for operations and nobody seems to care.

Not so long ago there was a picture of a Chinese man panning for diamonds’ at Chiadzwa. He was not even born here – this is not fair.

I bought a pair of Chinese sandals that lasted me exactly four footsteps. This cannot go on. – Anon, by e-mail
