Correction-De Jonge not at British Open

In our issue of July 19 to July 25 we erroneously reported that Zimbabwe’s Brendon De Jonge finished a credible 31st at the British Open which was won by Ernie Else.

It has since been established that De Jonge was not at the British Open but in fact finished 31st at another event, the True South Classic that was taking place at the same time.

We would like to correct the mistake and apologise for an inconvinience caused.

De Jonge has been Zimbabwe’s flag bearer on the Professional Golfers Association Tour following the retirement of Nick Price, Mark McNulty and Tony Johnstone and enjoys a world ranking of 125.

De Jonge ranks 54th in money leaders on the PGA tour. He has this year only amassed $1 138 694 after a total of $ 1 241 326 in 2011. He has a career total of $5 531 867.

His best performance this year was an eighth place at the Travellers Championship which was followed by an eleventh position at the prestigious AT and T National Championship.
