EcoChat linking up loved ones

Econet Wireless’s recently introduced chat service is bridging the communication divide between Zimbabweans living in neighbouring South Africa and those back home, says the mobile services provider.

The mobile network company introduced the service, EcoChat, last week and says it has been well received by customers.

“The initial feedback has been extremely positive with many customers now being able to be in touch with their loved ones back home on a daily basis,” Sue Kennedy, a senior official in the Sales and Marketing department.

EcoChat is free for 2012, the only cost being the data people use while chatting. As standard data rates apply, the cost is a fraction of the price of an sms. Customers require an internet or smart phone to sign up and invite friends to join the platform at: Econetzone.mobi and join the EcoChat community.
