
“Some of our personal items such as laptops and documents were locked up in the offices. The management should pay the rent so we can take our things. It is clear that there is no future at the organisation,” said a journalist, who refused to be named for fear of victimisation.
Since the newspaper ceased publishing three months ago, the journalists have been reporting for work, without being paid, hoping that the situation might improve. The workers have gone for three months without salaries.
It is not clear who is behind the project. Last year another obscure newspaper project, the Mail, was forced to close after leaving journalists stranded.
