The former Highlanders striker, who had a forgettable stay with current champions Orlando Pirates when he arrived in SA in 2007, became a free agent this weekend, after the expiry of his deal with National First Division side, Witbank Spurs.

The left-footed striker this week made known his intention to re-launch his once glorious career.

“I have played and enjoyed myself so much in the First Division that I now want to move on. I have not had offers so far, but I am very positive,” said the left-footed player.

The marksman enjoyed his stay at Spurs, having first arrived on a loan spell. He had enjoyed very little playing time at Pirates due to a nagging knee injury from which he has since recovered. His return to action saved Spurs the blushes last season, as his scoring prowess saw them rise from second bottom to end the season placed 13th in the 16-team log.

A former member of the Warriors, Matema top-scored in the Zimbabwean PSL, netting 19 times as Bosso won the 2006 season. He had netted 10 goals in 11 games when he left to join Pirates.
