
Bekithemba Nkomo, the chairman of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) who are the organisers of the mining expo told journalists in Bulawayo on Wednesday that a total of 200 foreign and local exhibitors have confirmed their participation at the mining entra which will run from July 25 to July 27.
“To date, the exhibition looks likely to surpass the 1997 edition where ZITF recorded the highest ever number of exhibitors and amount of space. This year there has been also a 33% increase from last year .Last year during this time, a total of 4,913 square metres and 5,798 total space was sold,” said Nkomo.
The chairman said a mix of mining, engineering and transport products and services will be also on show at the fair.
“The fair will also showcase services such as banking, security, insurance, customs clearing, medical and chemical supplies. Building and construction equipment will also be prominent as well as protective and other safety products,” he said.
Nkomo said this year’s event will also be held concurrently with a conference on mining and Joint Suppliers and Purchasers.
The conferences organised by the ZITF and the Chamber of Mines will be held on the 25th of July under the theme “Reveal Local Treasure, Shrike Global Returns”.
