The Women’s Day Family Gospel Show is scheduled for Hillbrow Theatre on September 1. Part of the proceeds will be used to buy basics for female refugees living inside the Central Methodist Church in downtown Johannesburg.

“We want our mothers and sisters living at the church to realise that they are worthy of public recognition, despite the unfortunate situation they find themselves in,” said Izwi Lesiphelo lead singer, Promise Mhlanga.

Formed last August by a group of Zimbabwean vocalists based in South Africa, the group’s debut offering, Kuyosulwa Izinyembezi, has sold more than 3,000 copies since its release in March.
