“We are currently doing well in the US and Germany and urge fellow local musicians to consider marketing their music internationally as Zimbabwean music is getting a great reception abroad,” said Herbert.
Their songs have reached the top 10 in the US and the top 5 in the German I-Tunes charts.
They formed their group, Gandanga, in 1990 and recorded their first project, ‘A piece of Ebony’, the same year. The collaborated with Mbira maestro, Chiwoniso Maraire, on their debut project before leaving the country for Germany in 1995.
