Patrick Sibanda, who runs the regionally-acclaimed Livingway Music Promotions and Entertainment, has so far convinced 10 musicians from different genres to take part in the show which will be held in Hillbrow suburb on September 1.

Dubbed “Zimbabwe Ndebele Hits Volume 1”, the DVD will feature artists from the country’s western region.

“For years, we have been saying that musicians, especially those from Matabeleland, lack unity. I have decided to take the initiative with this show,” Sibanda told The Zimbabwean. “Artists from other parts of the country are very successful because they have realised the importance of working together. We hope to show participants that it is possible to work together and achieve success.”

The line-up features artists such as Clement Magwaza of the “Take Take” fame, Themba Mathe who sent waves with “SaMarongo” and dancehall queen, Vivian Nomakanjani.

“To maintain the spirit of unity and collaboration, we blended artists who made it happen last year with upcoming acts that show a lot of promise so that they can get direction from those already in the field,” added Sibanda, who has previously promoted renowned artists like Mokis Super Sounds and Swazi gospel guru, Shongwe and Khuphuka.
