The event, to be held near the Olympic Park at Stratford Old Town Hall, 29 The Broadway,Stratford, London E15 4BQ, will be an opportunity to meet and greet Zimbabwe's Olympians, past and present, prior to the official start of the Games a few days later.
Zimbabwe's 2012 Olympic competitors are: Sharon Tawenga (marathon); Wirimai Zhuwawo (marathon); Cuthbert Nyasango (marathon); Chris Felgate (triathlon); Jamie Frazier Mackenzie (Rowing): Micheen Thornycroft (rowing): and Kirsty Coventry (swimming).
The 26 July Stratford programme includes a variety of events including presentations, entertainment and other activities. The evening will be an opportunity to show support for Team Zimbabwe as our Olympians go for gold. It is also an opportunity to build a lasting legacy of partnership between Zimbabwe's sportspersons and the Zimbabwean diaspora community.
