The striker told The Zimbabwean he would not be available for this weekend’s final against bitter rivals Ha Noi TT, apparently, because the team had not registered him to play in the country’s prime cup tournament.
“We found out late that my team-mate from Uganda, Kizito Baba, and myself were not registered with the
Vietnam Football Federation. We signed in December when they had sent the names and they ‘forgot’ to alter the list they had sent earlier. Either the previous coach or management made that boob,” says Kwashi.
The setback is a further blow to Kwashi.
That would have put him in good stead to make up for the last week’s misery as his side lost the league title on the final day of the season.
Second-placed Sai Gon went to the final round of games hoping for maximum points against table toppers Ha Noi.
The teams could only play a goalless draw, allowing third-placed Da Nang, who secured victory on the day, to leapfrog the duo and snatch the title from under their noses.
