Goals from Kivuvu and Manuche Goncalves gave the Black Antelopes the victory over the Mambas as they prepare for the Zimbabwean assignment.
Zimbabwe played Mozambique in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in June and the two teams drew 0-0 in Maputo.
While Angola are showing good form, Zimbabwe’s preparations for the Nations Cup match though have not been rosy with the Warriors first losing 1-0 to Botswana’s Zebras before falling 2-1 to a second string Zambian side.
Zimbabwe and Angola will first square off in Harare during the weekend of September 7 to 9 before meeting again in Luanda during the weekend of October
The winner of the two legged tie will qualify for the finals to be held in South Africa in January.
The Warriors have not qualified for the past two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, and are desperate to make it this time around.
