BB’s Josphat turns to acting

Another Big Brother participant has switched gears to act in an upcoming stage play. Like his predecessor Munyaradzi Chidzonga, controversial urban groove, Rockford Josphat of the Chidzoka fame, is trying his hand at the big stage.

His acting debut will be as the lead in Daves Guzha’s latest production at Theatre in the Park. “Big Brother made me realize that I could do more than sing. I had a number of fans when I was in the house because of my acting skills,” said Josphat.

The play, written by veteran playwright Stephen Chifunyise, explores events that led to the expulsion of Roki and Maneta from the BBA house.

“It takes a great team to make these plays happen. The amount of talent that creates the story is amazing. I am used to writing my songs but now I have to stick to the director’s script, which is frustrating at times,” he added.

The cast includes Chipo Bizure and Michael Kudakwashe. The disqualification of Roki and Maneta from BB has become one of the most talked about rivalries on the entertainment scene with some urban groovers releasing a single “Taneta naManeta”.
