With financial support from the European Union, Help Development Foundation and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the locals were able to erect a building with two classroom blocks.
“In 2009 an official of Help Development Foundation, Enos Maphosa, approached the villagers and asked them to identify the most challenging issue which they wanted addressed in the area. The villagers prioritised the secondary school because their children were travelling too far for school,” said Patricia Mzwanyana, the local headman for the area.
The villagers moulded bricks for the construction of the secondary school and each household contributed $10 towards the builders’ fees.
