Dynamos continue winning streak

Dynamos have closed the gap between them and Castle Lager Premier Soccer League leaders Highlanders after a 2-0 win over FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium Wednesday.

Before the game Dynamos were on 37 points from 17 games while overall leaders Highlanders were on 43 points from 19 games and have remained so since they did not have a game.

FC Platinum have not beaten Dynamos in a league match since they were promoted into the Premiership last season and this was their fourth loss to the Glamour Boys.

The defeat also does not do any good to the future of their coach Tendai Chikuni whose survival is now subject to speculation as losses continue to mount at the cash rich Zvishavane side.

Two goals by onfire midfielder Denver Mukamba in the 30th and 75th minute gave De Mbare the much needed victory and the three points that have seen them move to 40 points from 18 games.

Dynamos are awaiting the outcome of their appeal against a PSL disciplinary committee decision to order a replay in their incident field match against Hwange to see if they can move level at to the top of the table should the three points earlier deducted from them are restored.

Dynamos won the match at Rufaro Stadium 3-0 but the result was nullified after Hwange coaches Nation Dube and Mebelo Njekwa missed the match after being assaulted by Dynamos gate marshals just before the game.

The PSL appeals committee is set to hear the matter Thursday. This weekend Dynamos are at home to struggling Gunners while Highlanders also play at home against 2010 champions Motor Action who have also lost their overall strength of two years ago.
