The national team batting coach takes over from Australian bowling legend, Jason Gillespie, who left the country to lead English County Cricket outfit, Yorkshire.

Rhinos’ manager, Admire Marodza, confirmed saying “Midwest Rhinos is pleased to appointment Grant Flower as the new head coach for the forthcoming season. His healthy experience from the previous coaching jobs at Mashonaland Eagles and most recently as batting coach with the senior national team will be very handy. We are very confident that his experience will add value to our ambitious side.”

The Kwekwe side has no silverware to brag of since 2010 and Flower’s experience is expected to boost the team’s confidence for a glittering reward. The team has experienced national players to boast of.

These include national skipper, Brandon Taylor, Malcolm Waller and seamer Richard Muzhange. Muzhange was recently named in the 15-member team to take part at the fourth Twenty20 ICC World Cup in Sri Lanka, next month.

Rhinos recently retained the services of the British duo of Gary Balance and Solomon Mire.
