Green Machine to burst Glamour Boys bubble?

Caps United who has been struggling to bag maximum points as expected of such a big club in the Castle Lager premier soccer league since the beginning of the season hopes lady luck smiles at them tomorrow when they face high flying Dynamos in a potentially thrilling reverse fixture of the Harare derby set for the National Sports Stadium.

The Green Machine fans are fizzing with confidence that tomorrow will be their turning point after a good morale booster by the club executive, on Wednesday. The MaKepeKepe players were treated to a five star hotel dinner in the capital as club directors Twine Phiri and Farai Jere seek to boost their boys’ morale in camp.

“This is completely a new game,” Marvel Samaneka commended deciding to forget about the 1-0 defeat they suffered to the Glamour Boys in the first half of the season. “We are looking at the future and how we can have a fresh start.”

Teammate Tapiwa Khumbuyani prays that the team’s hard work pays off.

“For us it is just a must win game. We need all the points and we have worked very hard as a team for them. Anything can happen in such a big game but we are hoping it happens in our favour,” he said.

Caps United will be under the guidance of new head coach, Taurai Mangwiro, following the departure of Northern Irishman Sean Connor who was shown the exit early this month after a series of bad results.

Their bitter rivals Dynamos will be led by their coach, Calisto Pasuwa, who led them to the league championship title last year and the sweet victory of the first clash of the derby, two months ago.

Pasuwa refused to look into his opponents’ recent poor form as a yardstick of their performance tomorrow.

“It is a good team that has been unlucky. Their past form cannot be used to tell how they will perform on Sunday because this is a different game all together. We will be losing it if we are to judge them. We are going to be at our best and make sure that we win the game,” he said.

Youthful goalkeeper, George Chigova, will be expected to keep his fine form as he tries to fit in the shoes of his predecessor, Washington Arubi, and stop MaKepeKepe strikers from seeing the back of the nets.
